The CCB Diversity Committee is dedicated to promoting diversity, equity, and inclusion across the Department of Chemistry & Chemical Biology. We recognize that increasing access, opportunity, and meaningful representation of diverse identities and life experiences in our community are critical to the success of all students, researchers, and faculty. Our mission is to develop and implement new initiatives that foster an equitable environment built on respect and inclusivity, and to facilitate an open dialogue about issues related to diversity and multiculturalism, including but not limited to: race and ethnicity, gender identity, sexual orientation, socioeconomic status, age, dis/ability, religion, and family structures.

Our Current Initiatives
Diversity in Chemistry Seminars: A mini-symposium will be held once per semester, with the goals of these seminars being (1) to invite chemists from diverse backgrounds to our department, (2) to create a forum for our students to interact with diverse role models, and (3) to support open discussions on inclusion, individual experiences, and self-identity in STEM.
