Minor(s)
A minor in Chemistry is a great way to be able to demonstrate on your transcript, training and proficiency in a more focused area of chemistry, without the comprehensive requirements of a Chemistry Major. This can be important for employment opportunities and admission into a wide array of graduate programs. The Department of Chemistry and Chemical Biology offer a variety of Chemistry Minor degrees to help you achieve your career goals.
Requirements
A certain core of courses is required for the minor in chemistry. The core includes general and organic chemistry. Additional laboratory work and upper level courses in either inorganic (Option 1) or physical (Option 2) chemistry are required for completion of the minor.

Chemistry Education Minor
There is a growing need for trained STEM educators, particularly high-school chemistry educators, not only in New Jersey, but also in all other states. This minor in Chemistry Education will provide adequate background for those, not already majoring in chemistry, to become chemistry educators at the high school level. It is intended for natural science majors and majors of the humanities with an interest in a career in education.
